The Clearly Refined process
Every lens gets the process it needs.
Restoration is not a wipe-on shortcut. It is controlled surface correction—from failed exterior coating to refined, protected polycarbonate.
Prep the lens
Headlight Magic Lens Prep helps break down oxidation and soften failed coating so correction is faster and more consistent.
Level the damage
Wet sanding normally begins at 1000 grit. Heavier yellowing, pitting, or coating failure may call for 800 or 600 grit.
Refine the surface
The lens is progressively refined through 2000, 3000, and 4000 grit until the finish is smooth and evenly hazed.
Cut & polish
Machine compounding and polishing remove fine sanding marks and bring back optical clarity and gloss.
Protect & inspect
A clean, dry lens receives Headlight Magic UV Ceramic Coating in even overlapping passes, followed by a final inspection.
Honest limits
Exterior restoration, clearly defined.
Clearly Refined corrects the outside surface of the headlight lens. We do not open assemblies, remove internal moisture, repair leaking seals, or promise to erase structural cracks or internal crazing.
Good restoration candidates
Yellowing, exterior haze, failed UV coating, many surface scratches, and some exterior pitting.
